Tam Huynh & Colin Thomson

Are getting married

on Friday, 6 April 2018 in Tasmania, Australia

Bride & Groom

Tam Huynh

Born and raised in Australia's capital city (Canberra, not Sydney!), Tam moved to Sydney in 2003 for University. There, she developed a love for dance, the city, and if not love, a great career as a patent attorney. In 2012, Tam felt she was in a happy place in her life, and decided to see if there might be someone out there that could fit well with the life she had. Turns out there was - he was just from the most unexpected of places.

Colin Thomson

Hailing originally from the west coast of Canada, Colin has lived in various areas of Canada at various times. In 2011, feeling restless with his career and wanting to see more of the world, Colin quit his job, sold off most of his possessions, and embarked on a round the world adventure. After a year exploring New Zealand, Colin landed in Australia planning to tour and work his way around the country. Little did he expect to fall in love while in Sydney, but as luck would have it, someone shared his love for chocolate in the morning...

Tasmania Accomodation

For the wedding ceremony, there are numerous hotels, motels and house accommodation options in Hobart, which is a short 15 minute drive to Villa Howden.
We will be providing a shuttle bus service to and from Hobart for those that don't wish to drive on the day. The shuttle likely will be organised to pick up and drop off from a central spot in Hobart, near the waterfront.
If you have any questions on accommodation, looking for the best deals, etc, Colin loves to do trip planning assistance. Send him an email at tamandcolin@gmail.com with what you are looking for, and he'll see what he can find! A few hotel suggestions are provided below.

Fountainside Hotel

The Fountainside hotel is located near the CBD and waterfront of Hobart, offering a good balance of price, proximity to all the best restaurants, activities and free parking. We've stayed here and very much enjoyed our time!

Grand Chancellor

For those looking for a little more luxury and proximity to the waterfront, the Hotel Grand Chancellor Hobart is one of the top-rated hotels to stay at. It's also one of the largest hotels in the city and always easy to find given it's size.

Ibis Styles Hobart

Newly opened, Hobart's largest hotel at just under 300 rooms, the Ibis Styles hotel is running some very affordable offers. It's a short walk to the major sights of Hobart and can even include a breakfast option for those inclined.

St Ives Apartments

For those that might be looking for hotel style accommodation but with a small kitchenette, the St Ives apartments are close to the Salamanca area and include everything you might need, including good prices. Tam, Colin, and family are planning to stay here.

Macq 01

The Macq 01 hotel is Hobart's newest luxury hotel, right on the water and central to the wharf area. For those looking for a bit more upscale accommodation, the Macq 01 is likely the finest there is in Hobart, and includes fine dining and it's own special tours.

Gifts

We're simply grateful for your presence to celebrate the occasion with us!
A wishing well will be available at the reception for any cards or notes you wish to leave.

Will You Attend?

Please let us know by 31 December 2017 if you can make it and if you wish to come to both ceremonies, or just one.
